Internal Restrictions/Closures

Authorities in Lebanon have announced plans to impose a nightly 1800-0600 curfew and a nationwide lockdown from Aug. 21 for a period of two weeks due to an increase in the number of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases.

The new COVID-19 restrictions require all businesses, including malls and commercial centers, to close through at least Sept. 3. Restaurants will be limited to delivery and pick-up services, while all government agencies will operate at 50 percent capacity. Authorities have also banned religious gatherings.

Residents are required to wear protective face coverings when in public.

Airlines & Transport

Commercial flights at BEY have resumed, albeit at significantly reduced capacity. Private flights to and from BEY resumed June 24.

Airlines are requiring a COVID-19 test prior to taking a flight to Lebanon, and another COVID-19 test is done on arrival in Lebanon's Beirut airport.
