General Information
Mozambique has reopened to International visitors.
International borders have reopened and flights resumed on Sept. 7. However, the number of available flights, at least initially, is likely to remain limited.
Travelers are required to obtain a negative COVID-19 test that is no older than 72 hours, before arriving. All arrivals were also mandated to complete a 10-day self-quarantine or self-quarantine for 14 days without a test.
Mask Requirement

Mask is required to be worn in all public indoor, public transport and all outdoor areas.
Internal Restrictions/Closures
Authorities in Mozambique have extended the national state of emergency through Sept. 6 as part of the nation's efforts to slow the spread of coronavirus disease (COVID-19). The measure, which was initially introduced April 1, imposes restrictions on movement across the country.
Authorities have also announced a phased easing of restrictions from Aug. 18.
Phase 1, from Aug. 18, will allow the resumption of low-risk activities, including the reopening of certain schools and academies, religious services, and funerals. Gatherings will be limited to 50 people.
Phase 2, from Sept. 1, will allow the resumption of medium-risk activities, including the reopening of additional educational institutions, cinemas, theatres, casinos, gyms, and other sporting events.
Phase 3, from Oct. 1, will allow the resumption of high-risk activities; local media reports indicate that this refers to the resumption of grade-12 final year secondary school classes. Additional decisions on Phase 3 activities will likely be made by authorities in the coming weeks.
Airlines & Transport
International passenger flights are suspended. There are restrictions on passenger transit at land, air, or maritime ports of entry.
Repatriation, humanitarian, and freight transportation are exempt from land, maritime, and airport entry bans.
Public transport is allowed with a limited number of passengers; facemasks are mandatory on public transport vehicles.
